As a Marysville Pilchuck football fan I am curious to learn exactly how our Tomahawks end up playing an undefeated Ballard team in this week’s winner-to-state playoffs. According to The Herald’s Nov. 3 prep football story, Marysville Pilchuck is supposed to play the Metro League No.7 seed. Looking at the Metro League, undefeated Ballard obviously is not the number 7 seed.
I searched the WAII website and found nothing that explains how this match-up came about. Looking at the other match-ups it seems like both Marysville Pilchuck and Ballard are getting treated unfairly considering their unbeaten records. Shouldn’t both of these teams be playing lesser opponents in this weekends’ winner-to-state games?
