I puzzle over the unnecessary landscaping along our roadways I see, especially on the west side of the state. Millions of tax dollars wasted on landscaping that is soon overrun by natural vegetation. All landscaped areas require maintenance adding to more wasted tax dollars. A small rain catching area in Snohomish County cost $20,000 to weed. The expensive Brightwater landscaping has been overrun with weeds. The cost to weed the area could be in excess of $50,000 each time, natural vegetation takes over. You can estimate this to be an annual expense. Ask government not to waste our tax dollars on feel good programs.
