I read the article in Monday’s paper, “Uninsured patients taxing county health care system.” Why are people surprised this is happening? When there is no safety net for people to fall back on, either private or public, every single one of us pays! Sad thing is, we have seen reports of this since the early 1990s in other parts of the country.
It’s sad that those in control of Congress evidently care about their big business supporters more than they do for us common folk. Otherwise a national health insurance policy would be available. (No – I’m not talking about socialized medicine.)
With the insurance industry bank-rolling a chunk of many re-election campaigns, I’m not holding out hope the feds will fix it. Maybe Snohomish County should follow San Francisco and provide its own health-care plan.
