The concept declared in our Declaration of Independence that “all of us are created equally” is denied by the MAGA leadership. They prefer the concept held by loyalists during the American Revolution that the king is deserving of their obedience and common folks have no voice determining their future. The founding fathers rejected this abuse of absolute power and created our democracy.
Today, some disillusioned voters have abandoned our amazingly successful 230-plus years of rule by majority consent. They do not trust us to govern ourselves. But despite the many challenges during our history, our democracy has proven to be the most equitable and attractive ever conceived by humankind.
We must not abandon the God-given truth that we are all created equally. Autocracy must be rejected by all freedom-loving people. Don’t trust a wanna-be king
