Regarding the July 13 letter, “We should move over for speeders?” All my life I have been led to believe that ignorance of the law is no excuse to break it. It is our duty to know the laws of the road before we get a driver’s license. That’s why I think the Washington State Patrol should be ticketing offenders. They will remember a ticket quicker than a slap on the hand, the next time they think about breaking the law. Then maybe people like the letter writer will not feel obligated to try to regulate traffic, thereby causing road rage.
