Xfinicky?

That’s Comcastic! The operators of Everett’s Comcast Arena, which struggles to fill available dates with Silvertips hockey, roller derby matches and a sprinkling of pop concerts, announced that the arena’s name is being changed to Xfinity Arena. Xfinity is the brand Comcast uses for its cable, Internet and phone subsidiary.

Other names that were considered but rejected included:

  • American Idol Also-Ran Concert Theatre,
  • Book This Arena For Your Wedding Stadium and
  • Your Service Representative Should Arrive Between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Arena.
