I searched both the Saturday and Sunday paper for any mention of the passing of the young leukemia patient, Brendan Foster of Bothell. He died Friday morning. I was disappointed to find no coverage.
Channel 4 and Elisa Jaffe had non-stop coverage of his short life. His last wish was to help the homeless and poor. As a result, TV station employees, stores and volunteers and the communities all across the country filled numerous large trucks with food and collected cash for the food banks in his honor.
Whether he was aware of the generous outpouring that took place on Thursday or not, he surely went to Heaven in peace, knowing that his wish came true.
In my opinion, his death deserved not only a mention, but our utmost gratitude for a courageous little boy with a big heart.
