My deepest sympathies to the family whose son was hit and killed by a car last week over his bottle rocket getting too close to a passing car. And to his friend’s family after being assaulted by a person in that car. (July 16 article, “Boy dies after being chased into traffic.”)
My heart goes out to the young lady who was innocent of this child’s blood after he darted out in front of her car as he ran from the 20-something man who chased after him to do him bodily harm.
I hope the two men who stopped and did these boys harm will get the jail time they deserve.
On a closing note, not meaning to put salt into any wounds, this is exactly why my under the age of 16 children are indoors once it begins to get dark.
We no longer live in a time children are safe, even in their own neighborhood.
Yes, as this family has found out, it can happen to you.
