I’m writing to express my support for the Boy Scouts of America and my disappointment in United Way of Snohomish County. As a mother and a citizen of this community, I’m grateful for an organization that builds character in boys and young men. I don’t believe there has ever been a time when our society has needed the Boy Scouts more than we need them today! It frightens me to think of living in a society where a private organization is not permitted to set policies based on traditional family and religious values. If we don’t defend our rights to uphold these values, we will surely lose them.
I encourage the people of this county who support the Boy Scouts to discontinue all financial donations to United Way. Send your donations directly to the organizations you support.
