Everett’s Kasch Park (8811 Airport Rd.) and Phil Johnson Ballfields (400 Sievers Duecy Blvd.), Lynnwood’s Meadowdale Playfields (16700 66th Ave W) and Monroe’s Lake Tye Park (14964 Fryelands Blvd.) will be full of activity throughout this week and into the weekend.
The girls fastpitch 2024 USA Softball 14U B, 16U B and 18U A/B Western National Championships begin July 24 and conclude July 28, held at the Everett and Lynnwood locations.
The 2024 Nautique WWA Wakeboard National Championships and Nautique U.S. National Wakesurf Championships begin July 25 and conclude the 28, held at Lake Tye Park.
Play ball
This is the first year the Snohomish County Sports Commision will host the USA Softball Western Nationals, said Executive Director Tammy Dunn.
The tournament includes 60 fastpitch teams, spanning from Montana, Oregon, California and Washington. There are 30 teams in the 14U B, 18 in the 16U B and 12 in the 18U A/B divisions.

Pool-play games are Wednesday-Friday with the double-elimination championship games on Saturday and Sunday.
Ride the wave
The World Wake Association is hosting the 2024 Nautique WWA Wakeboard National Championships and the Nautique U.S. National Wakesurf Championships.
Monroe is the third of four stops of the Nautique Wake Series. The first stop was in Melbourne, Australia, second in Pine Mountain, Georgia and fourth will be in Gold Coast, Australia.

Fryelands Boulevard between 146th and Tye Street will be closed from 8 a.m. July 23 until 8 a.m. July 29.
Competiton begins approximately 9 a.m. and ends 5 p.m. each day. The event is free to the public.
