2011 Cougars Championship Passing Tournament and O-Line Challenge (UPDATED)

The annual 7-on-7 Cougars Championship Passing Tournament is scheduled for Saturday at Lakewood High School. Lakewood football coach Dan Teeter, the tournament organizer, sent me a list of the teams that will participate:

New this year: Coach Teeter added a competition for offensive linemen. The events are bench press, tire toss, tire relay, tug-o-war and 400-meter relay. The O-line Challenge starts at 10 a.m. with the bench press in Lakewood’s weight room. The final event, the 400 relay, begins at 2 p.m.

The 7-on-7 passing tournament starts at 9 a.m. and concludes with the championship game at 6 p.m. (see full schedule below). The teams are divided up into five divisions. There will be round-robin games and then playoffs.

Gold Division
Bethel (4A), Liberty (3A), Bellingham (2A), Sultan (2A)

Black Division
Bothell (4A), Eastside Catholic (3A), Glacier Peak (3A), LaConner (2B)

White Division
Issaquah (4A), Stanwood (4A), Port Angeles (2A), King’s (1A)

Red Division
Kamiak (4A), Juanita (3A), Marysville Getchell (3A), Coupeville (1A)

(Pairings determined by overall record. First tiebreaker is head-to-head, if tiebreaker involves only two teams. Second tiebreaker is overall point differential for round-robin games.)

SEMIFINALS
5 p.m.

CHAMPIONSHIP
6 p.m.

AWARDS
(Championship trophy, as well as Offensive MVP and Defensive MVP awards, will be presented.)
