This is it. Another fine season for the Meadowdale girls basketball team will be over in about two hours.
The Mavericks will walk away with a trophy, but there’s only one they really want: the fifth-place hardware. They’re about to clash with Lakeside in the fifth/eighth-place consolation final.
Based on what I saw yesterday, Lakeside has some gifted interior scorers. That could pose a major problem for Meadowdale, which has one of the shortest lineups in the 16-team field.
Can Meadowdale’s speed, pressure defense and outside shooting cancel out Lakeside’s inside power? We’re about to find out.
