Career: Henderson has been a key figure in U.S. soccer for more than a decade. He was an All-America soccer player at both Cascade and UCLA before joining the national team at the age of 19. He led the 1993 U.S. national team in assists and eventually went pro. He helped Kansas City win the Major League Soccer Cup in 2000, scoring the game-winning goal.
Postscript: Henderson, who is currently a midfielder for the Columbus Crew, is the 14th-leading scorer in MLS history. He is 34 years old.
