Career: One of the finest multi-sport athletes in county history, Metzger became a star basketball player at Western Washington University. She was a two-time NAIA All-American and two-time finalist for the Wade Trophy, which was given to the nation’s top player, regardless of division.
Postscript: Now the athletic director at Everett High, Jo Metzger Levin was recently named to the NAIA Hall of Fame and was named WWU’s athlete of the century. The Seattle Times recently named her one of the top 10 girls’ basketball players in state history.
