I heard an interview this afternoon on KJR with former Seahawk Charle Young, the father of Chancellor Young. Charle Young said that Chancellor simply had to finish a paper, which is nearly done, in order to regain his eligibility and was optimistic that Chancellor would join the Huskies this season.
This is totally contradictory to what Tyrone Willingham said a month ago when he revealed that Young, J.R. Hasty, Charles Smith and Nathan Flowers were done for the year due to academic problems. In fact there was some speculation that Chancellor Young wasn’t even at the UW anymore.
Of course, if Young, who transferred to Washington from Duke last year after starring at O’Dea High School, he would give the Huskies another big, fast threat at receiver. Young had a good spring and made an outstanding catch in the spring game. But of course, the news that Young could regain eligibilty soon is coming from his father, not an official UW source, so take it for what it’s worth.
