SEATTLE — Forty-five minutes before kickoff, Shaun Alexander ran out of the visiting locker room at Qwest Field and heard a few boos.
The former Seattle Seahawks running back took the field as a visitor for the first time today, joining his Washington teammates for this afternoon’s game. After Washington coach tinkered with the idea of leaving him inactive for the game, Alexander was in uniform and ready to play.
The Seahawks’ inactive list included starting left guard Mike Wahle, who will be replaced by Ray Willis in the starting lineup. Willis will play right guard, while Floyd Womack will move from the right to the left side.
The other inactive Seahawks are kicker Brandon Coutu, safety C.J. Wallace, defensive tackle Red Bryant, wide receiver Jordan Kent, tight end Jeb Putzier and defensive end Brandon Miller.
Washington’s inactives include starting linebacker Marcus Washington. H.B. Blades will start in his place this afternoon.
After hearing a few boos from the fans near the visiting tunnel, Washington’s Alexander jogged along the east sideline and waved at a few fans. He eventually took part in pre-game drills with his Washington teammates while Zorn visited with Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren at midfield.
