SEATTLE — The University of Washington will take on Arizona State this weekend without the services of sophomore receiver Jordan Polk.
Polk, who is generally regarded as the fastest UW receiver, suffered a partial tear of knee cartilage and will likely miss a game or two, head coach Steve Sarkisian said Thursday.
Polk, who ranks eighth on the team with four receptions, suffered the injury late in Wednesday night’s practice.
In his absence, the Huskies might give more playing time to sophomore Cody Bruns, who has yet to catch a pass this season. The injury might also clear the way for junior walk-on Tony Chidiac to travel to ASU this weekend.
“With the obvious heat, we want to bring extra legs,” Sarkisian said.
Sarkisian said that wide receiver Devin Aguilar, who suffered a minor concussion earlier this week, is likely to play despite being limited in practices. Aguilar did not practice Wednesday and saw very little time Thursday but will travel to the game.
