EUGENE, Ore. — Troy Dixon hit an RBI single in the top of the 10th inning to help lead the Everett AquaSox to a 7-4 win over the Eugene Emeralds on Monday.
Nick Rodriguez scored the go-ahead run on the single after he started the inning on second and advanced to third on a groundout. Later in the inning, Everett added insurance runs when Jansiel Rivera and Charlie McConnell hit RBI singles.
The Emeralds tied the game 4-4 in the ninth when Nelson Velazquez hit an RBI double, driving in Luis Diaz.
Connor Kopach singled twice, scoring two runs in the win.
Joey Gerber (1-0) got the win in relief while Casey Ryan (0-2) took the loss. Jamal Wade retired the side in order for his first save of the season.
Everett took advantage of some erratic Eugene pitching, drawing a season-high 10 walks in its victory.
Velazquez homered and doubled, driving home three runs for the Emeralds.
