EVERETT — After Hillsboro rallied with six run in the seventh inning to tie the game, Neyfy Castillo hit a go-ahead single in the top of the ninth inning and the Hops held on for a 8-7 comeback win over the Everett AquaSox on Thursday night at Funko Field.
Marysville Pilchuck alum Trent Tingelstad hit a three-run home run in a six-run third inning as the AquaSox jumped out in front big early.
Alberto Rodriguez added an RBI single in the fourth as Everett pushed the lead to 7-0.
Sheng-Ping Chen hit a solo home run in the top of the sixth to begin a string of eight unanswered runs for the Hops en route to the win.
Jimmy Joyce started on the mound for Everett (58-70) and allowed one run and struck out nine in six quality innings. Joyce allowed just three hits and walked three.
Castillo went 2-for-4 with four RBI, and Chen finished 3-for-5 with two RBI for Hillsboro (58-69).
