EVERETT — Four Everett pitchers combined on a four-hitter and the AquaSox bounced back from their first loss of the series with a 6-1 win over the Eugene Emeralds on Saturday night at Funko Field.
George Kirby started for Everett and allowed only one run on four hits in five innings before a trio of relievers shut the Emeralds down the rest of the way. Stephen Kolek, Kyle Hill and Jarod Bayless combined for four hitless innings to secure the win for the AquaSox.
Austin Shenton hit his fifth home run of the season and Kaden Polcovich drove in two runs to lead the Everett (21-13) offense. Julio Rodriguez went 1-for-4 with a double for the AquaSox.
Franklin Labour went 2-for-3 with a triple for Eugene (20-15).
The six-game series concludes on Sunday in Everett. First pitch is scheduled for 4:05 p.m.
