EVERETT — The Everett AquaSox rallied from a five-run deficit to take the lead with six runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, but an RBI double from Brett Johnson tied the game and Wilderd Patino hit a go-ahead single in the top of the ninth to lift the Hillsboro Hops to a wild 13-12 win on Thursday night at Funko Field.
Ben Ramirez hit a two-run single, Alberto Rodriguez followed with an RBI double and scored on a wild pitch, and Axel Sanchez added an RBI single to tie the game at 11-11 in the eighth. Sanchez stole second base and Walking Cabrera stole home on the throw to give the AquaSox the brief lead.
Rodriguez finished the game 3-for-6 with two home runs and five RBI, and Ramirez went 2-for-4 with three RBI for Everett (24-24).
J.J. D’Orazio, Sheng-Ping Chen and Jonathan Guzman all homered in the game for Hillsboro (20-28).
