EVERETT – After eight years with the Everett AquaSox, Dan Lewis decided it was time for a change.

Lewis, the AquaSox’s general manager, is stepping down so he can spend more time with his family.

“I first want to thank (owner) Peter and (senior vice president) Pete Carfagna for giving me the opportunity to lead this ball club and be an integral part of the Everett community,” Lewis said in a press release. “The AquaSox are a special franchise and I enjoyed the experience tremendously.”

Lewis lives in Bellingham and has two young children. During the season Lewis’ responsibilities often forced him to remain at the ballpark overnight.

“This is an outstanding franchise and a talented group of people,” Lewis said. “They will continue to make Everett Memorial Stadium a special place for family and friends to watch a baseball game and spend an enjoyable summer evening.”

Lewis is being replaced by Brian Sloan, who is the AquaSox’s director of corporate sales. Sloan, who is going into his 11th season with the AquaSox, will continue to be Everett’s head of corporate sales in addition to adding new responsibilities.

“This is a great opportunity for me to continue to work closely with the Carfagna family and the rest of our amazing staff who help provide the Everett area quality family entertainment in a clean, safe and positive environment,” Sloan said.

Lewis joined the AquaSox in 1998 and served as controller and director of operations before being promoted to general manager in 2004. He will stay on as a consultant for the next couple months to help ease the transition.

“We are happy for Dan and his family and want to thank him for his many years of loyal service to the AquaSox organization,” Pete Carfagna said. “At the same time, we feel very fortunate to be able to promote Brian Sloan to the position of general manager effective immediately. Brian is an experienced veteran with many years of experience with the AquaSox as director of corporate sales.”
