HILLSBORO, Ore. — Jose Curpa hit walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning and the Hillsboro Hops defeated the Everett AquaSox 3-2 in extra innings Saturday at Ron Tonkin Field.
Hillsboro (4-4) starter Deyni Oliver allowed just two hits and one run over 5.2 innings and struck out seven. Four different Hops’ relivers combined to through 4.1 hitless innings of relief, including a clean top of the tenth by Auston Pope (1-1) to earn the win. Pope struck out two.
Curpa went 2-for-4 and A.J. Vukovich and Adrian Del Castillo drove in runs in the first inning with RBI singles.
Bryce Miller fanned six and allowed four hits and two runs over 5.2 innings for the AquaSox (3-4).
Justin Lavey tripled and Noelvi Marte hit a single for Everett’s only hits. Cesar Izturis Jr. had two RBI.
