VANCOUVER, B.C. — The Vancouver Canadians exploded for six runs over three innings and handed the Everett AquaSox a 6-1 loss on Sunday at Nat Bailey Stadium.
Leo Jimenez, Riley Tirotta and PK Morris each drove in a run in sixth to give the Canadians (48-44) a 3-1 lead.
Vancouver scored two more in the seventh on an error and a sac fly from Damiano Palmegiani. Garrett Spain tacked on another run with a solo home run in the eighth.
James Paker hit an RBI double in the sixth for the AquaSox (47-48), who mustered just three hits.
Canadians starter Jimmy Robbins tossed five scoreless innings of one-hit ball. He struck out 11 and walked two. Justin Kelly (5-2) allowed an unearned run in the sixth and Abdiel Mendoza pitched three scoreless innings to earn his first save.
Everett starter Fred Villarreal allowed two hits over three innings, and Brendan McGuigan (0-3) took the loss after allowing three runs over two-thirds of an inning.
