KEIZER, Ore. — For the third consecutive night, the Everett AquaSox and Salem-Keizer Volcanoes played a game of “you score, we score” at Volcanoes Stadium.
For the second time in the series, the Sox came out on top by the score of 11-10.
Everett (21-27, 4-6 second half) fell into a 5-0 hole after the first inning, rebounded to take the lead 7-5 in the third and fell behind 10-7 after 6 before scoring four times in the eighth to salt the game away.
Joe Venturino greeted Salem-Keizer reliever Andy Rohloff with a leadoff single in the eighth, and Troy Dixon followed with a single of his own to put runners on first and second.
Rohloff walked the next two hitters to force in a run and make the score 10-8 before he was lifted in favor of Garrett Cave.
He didn’t fare much better, walking Austin Grebeck to force in a second run to make it 10-9 and allowing an game-tying RBI single to Johnny Adams.
After an out, Greifer Andrade put the Sox ahead with a sacrifice fly.
Sox reliever Matt Clancy got out of trouble in the bottom of the frame before striking out the side in the ninth to seal it.
