EUGENE, Ore. — The Everett AquaSox jumped out to a big lead and cruised to a 10-4 win over the Eugene Emeralds on Friday night at PK Park.
Robert Perez keyed a three-run first inning with a two-run double and Austin Shenton doubled in a run in the second to give the AquaSox an early 5-1 lead.
Everett (11-11) tacked on two more runs on a two-run single by Cade Marlowe in the fifth.
Marysville Pilchuck alum Trent Tingelstad chipped in an RBI single in the sixth as the AquaSox scored three more times to push the lead to 10-1.
The Emeralds scored three runs in the eighth to cut into Everett’s lead, but couldn’t muster any more offense.
Marlowe and Utah Jones each had two hits to lead an AquaSox offense that also walked 11 times in the game.
Jorge Benitez (2-0) pitched four scoreless inning and struck out six to earn the win for Everett.
