EVERETT — The Spokane Indians wrapped up the first-half title in the Northwest League’s North Division on Sunday with a 5-4 victory over the Everett AquaSox in front of 3,588 fans at Funko Field.
The Indians lead the second-place AquaSox by three games with one game remaining in the first half.
Everett held a 3-0 advantage going into the seventh inning on the strength of solo home runs by Connor Hoover, Luis Joseph and Cash Gladfelter.
Spokane rallied to tie the game in the top of the seventh, getting an RBI single from Jonah McReynolds and a two-run single from Obie Ricumstrict.
Everett regained the lead in the bottom of the seventh on a run-scoring double by Cesar Izturis Jr.
But McReynolds delivered again, hitting a two-run single in the top of the eighth to give the Indians a 5-4 lead.
Triston Polley (2-0) got the win for Spokane. He gave up one run in 1.2 innings of relief.
Everett starting pitcher Tim Elliot went the first three innings, allowing just one hit and no runs. He struck out four.
Brock Minich (0-3) took the loss.
