EUGENE, Ore. — Joseph Rosa drove in Chris Torres with a two-out double in the top of the ninth inning to give Everett a one-run lead, and the AquaSox hung on for a 3-2 victory against the Eugene Emeralds on the road Friday night.
The Frogs led 2-0 until Eugene tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the eighth, setting up Rosa’s go-ahead RBI the following half inning.
The win snapped a four-game losing streak for Everett (13-20).
Everett starter Andres Torres continued his brilliant first half of the season with another gem. The Venezuelan-born 21-year-old tossed six scoreless innings, allowed five hits, struck out seven and didn’t walk a batter.
A Rosa third-inning triple gave Everett a 1-0 lead. A throwing error on the play allowed the AquaSox second baseman to come all the way around to score. Back-to-back hit batsmen extended Everett’s lead to 2-0 in the top of the eighth.
Rosa went 3-for-5 with a double, triple, an RBI and a run scored.

Torres was named the NWL Pitcher of the Week for his performance the week of July 10-16.
