EUGENE, Ore. — Matt Sanders hit an RBI single in the top of the 10th inning to lead the Everett AquaSox to a 4-3 win over the Eugene Emeralds on Friday.
Josh Stowers scored the go-ahead run on the single after he started the inning on second and advanced to third on a single by Bobby Honeyman.
Eugene had a runner on third in the bottom of the 10th, but Jonathan Sierra struck out to end the game.
David Ellingson (1-0) got the win with 2 1/3 innings of scoreless, one-hit relief while Jake Steffens (1-1) took the loss in the Northwest League game.
Everett took advantage of some erratic Eugene pitching, drawing a season-high nine walks in its victory.
Jonathan Soto doubled and singled, driving in two runs for the Emeralds.
