SPOKANE — Jansiel Rivera hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning, leading the Everett AquaSox to a 9-5 win over the Spokane Indians on Thursday. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the AquaSox and a four-game winning streak for the Indians.
The home run by Rivera, part of a four-run inning, tied the game 3-3 before Connor Kopach hit a two-run double later in the inning.
The AquaSox later tacked on four runs in the sixth when Geoandry Montilla hit a two-run home run and Kopach hit a two-run double to secure the victory.
Noah Zavolas (1-1) got the win with 2 1/3 innings of scoreless, one-hit relief while Spokane starter Jake Latz (0-1) took the loss in the Northwest League game.
Tanner Gardner tripled and singled twice, driving home three runs and scoring a couple for the Indians. Curtis Terry doubled and singled twice, driving home two runs.
