KEIZER, Ore. — Carter Bins hit a two-run double to highlight a five-run second inning that lifted the Everett AquaSox to 9-7 win over the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes at Volcanoes Stadium.
Bins’ double with the bases loaded broke a 1-1 tie, Utah Jones followed with an RBI groundout and Cesar Izturis Jr. drove in two more on a single to left field.
After back-to-back two run innings, S-K cut its deficit to 7-5.
Bins and Cade Marlowe extended the AquaSox lead to 9-5 with a pair of crucial insurance runs on RBI singles.
Bins finished 2-for-5 with three RBI and Marlowe drove in two runs during a three-hit performance.
Luis Curvelo (1-1) tossed 4.1 innings and allowed three runs, three hits, a walk and struck out one to earn the win.
Everett improved to 12-13 in the second half.
