SPOKANE — Victor Juarez allowed just one run in five innings and the Spokane bullpen did not allow a hit over the final four frames as the Indians shut down the red-hot Everett AquaSox bats in a 3-1 win on Friday night at Avista Stadium.
Juarez struck out seven and walked only one batter, Angel Chivilli tossed two hitless innings of relief, and Evan Justice and Tyler Ahearn pitched a scoreless inning each for the Indians.
Jonatan Clase went 2-f0r-3 with a stolen base, his 15th of the season, and Alberto Rodriguez finished 2-for-4 with a double for the AquaSox.
Reid VanScoter started for Everett (10-8) and allowed two runs on four hits in four innings. VanScoter struck out six and walked three. Tim Elliott, Luis Curvelo and Michael Flynn pitched scoreless innings in relief.
Jordan Beck and Braxton Fulford both homered in the game for Spokane (8-8).
