Archbishop Murphy advances to state soccer finals

LAKEWOOD – Andrea Gaitan scored in the first half on an assist from Michelle Linscott as the Archbishop Murphy High School girls soccer team defeated Sultan 1-0 today in a Class 2A state semifinal at Harry Lang Stadium.

Murphy (19-3 overall), which had 19 shots on goal and limited Sultan to one, plays Naches Valley (19-2-1) at 4 p.m. Saturday for the state championship.
