The catch and release fishery in Marine Area 10, south of Edmonds, has been excellent, according to All Star Charters owner Gary Krein in Everett.
“It’s as good as I’ve ever seen it,” Krein said. “Last week and over the weekend, boats were hooking and playing anywhere from 6 adult kings up to as many as 15, with most reporting 10 to 12-fish days.”
Krein said most were adult fish, with only a scattering of blackmouth, and “typical Puget Sound kings, in the 10 to 18-pound range.”
On July 1 the season changes, allowing salmon fishermen to keep up to two coho.
