ARLINGTON — The Arlington boys basketball team is hosting Everett on Friday night in the program’s seventh annual Coaches vs. Cancer game at Arlington High School.
Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the event, which raises funds to fight cancer and honors those in the community who have been affected by the disease. A special pregame ceremony will begin at about 6:45 p.m., followed by the game at 7:15 p.m.
Eight honorary coaches will be honored during the pregame ceremony and will be present on the teams’ benches during the game. The honorary coaches include cancer survivors, individuals battling cancer and individuals representing someone who has passed away from cancer.
There are a number of scheduled festivities, including a halftime shootout, halftime pop-a-shot, gift-basket raffles, prizes and giveaways. All proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
