Athletes of the week

Baseball: Mike Stone of Cascade hit a seventh-inning home run to tie the score in a 5-2 win over Monroe and hit for the cycle in an 11-5 win over Lake Stevens.

Softball: Kayelynne Huggins of Archbishop Murphy pitched a no-hitter wth 10 strikeouts in a 3-0 win over Granite Falls.

Boys soccer: Goalkeeper Kaleb Kuehn of Marysville-Pilchuck had 11 saves in a 1-0 win over Lake Stevens.

Girls track: Whitney Hooks of Cascade threw the shot 49 feet, 1.5 inches to win the event at the Eason Invitational, breaking the meet record by more than 4 feet.

Boys track: Joey Bywater of Lake Stevens set a meet record of 9 minutes, 30.6 seconds in winning the 3,200-meter run at the Viking Invite. He also won the 1,600 to lead the Vikings to first place in their own event.

Boys golf: Chad Heise of Arlington shot a 3-under-par 69 over 18 holes at Eaglemont Golf Course to lead the Eagles to first place in a four-team meet with Oak Harbor, Mount Vernon and Stanwood.

Girls golf: Maria Stoica of Monroe compiled 61 Stableford points over 18 holes at Battle Creek Golf Course to lead the Bearcats to first place in a three-team meet with Lake Stevens and Marysville-Pilchuck. She also scored a 33 over nine holes at Walter Hall Golf Course in a meet with Snohomish, Cascade, Lake Stevens and Marysville-Pilchuck.

Girls tennis: Kari Fiske of Shorewood won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles in a Wesco South win over Edmonds-Woodway, posting her 12th consecutive straight-sets victory.
