Boys cross country: Jeff Helmer of Jackson placed third, one second behind the winner, at the Danner Invitational in Gresham, Ore.
Girls cross country: Kara Sporrong led Snohomish to a third-place finish by placing 11th in the Danner Invitational at Gresham, Ore.
Football: Josh Heard of Edmonds-Woodway carried 34 times for 295 yards and scored three touchdowns in a 33-27 victory over Jackson.
Boys tennis: Matt Peterson of Kamiak won a three-set singles match, claiming two tiebreakers in the process, to give the Knights a 4-3 win over Shorecrest.
Girls swimming: Marina Pomar-Enders of Jackson swam a state-qualifying time in the 500-yard freestyle and participated on two winning relay teams in a 96-83 loss to Kamiak. She swam state-qualifying times in the 200 and 500 freestyle races and swam on two winning relays in a 103-67 victory over Shorecrest.
Volleyball: Megan Amundson of Stanwood had 22 kills in a 3-1 victory over Meadowdale.
Boys soccer: Mike Duke of Coupeville scored two goals and assisted on a third in a 3-0 victory over North Sound Christian.
Girls soccer: Laurelle LaCasse of Mountlake Terrace scored the tying and game-winning goals in a 3-2 overtime victory over Meadowdale.
