Athletes of the Week
Football: Jake Webb of Arlington rushed 25 times for 248 yards and scored four touchdowns in a 31-21 victory over Monroe.
Girls soccer: Kristi Kingma of Jackson scored the tying goal and had an assist in a 2-2 tie with Skyline. She also assisted on three of Dani Oster’s four goals in a 4-1 victory over Sehome.
Boys soccer: Grant Brandal of Shoreline Christian scored all four of his team’s goals in a 4-3 win over North Sound Christian.
Girls cross country: Amanda Stopa of Snohomish finished fourth overall at the Iolani Invitational at Kualoa Ranch, Hawaii.
Boys cross country: Andrew Glebe of Snohomish finished second overall at the Iolani Invitational at Kualoa Ranch, Hawaii.
Girls swimming: Snohomish freshman Sarah Shawback won the 200-yard individual medley and 100 backstroke, both in Class 4A state-qualifying times, as the Panthers defeated Mercer Island 94-91 for their first-ever win over the Islanders.
Boys tennis: The Kamiak No. 2 doubles team of David Kagawa and Junte Park won 7-6 (7-3), 1-6, 6-1 to give the Knights a 4-3 victory over Jackson, their first win over the Timberwolves in five years.
Volleyball: Emma Donaldson’s serves led to 25 points as Sultan defeated Skykomish 3-0 for its first volleyball win in five years.
