Amber McDermott of Jackson broke her own state record with a time of four minutes, 41.98 seconds in the 500-yard freestyle and was named the outstanding swimmer of the meet as she helped lead the Timberwolves to the 4A state championship.

Annie Sittauer of Everett scored four goals in the Seagulls’ 7-1 3A state first-round win over North Kitsap and assisted on Everett’s first goal in its 3-1 semifinal win over Union.

Laura Friar of King’s had 23 kills as the Knights defeated Castle Rock 3-1 for the 1A state championship.

Quarterbacks Jake Downs and Austin VanderWel of Archbishop Murphy combined to complete nine of 11 passes for 274 yards and two touchdowns in a 56-7 2A state first-round playoff win over Black Hills.
