Boys golf Reid Martin led Kamiak to the 4A state championship by winning the individual state title. Martin shot 2-under-par 70-72—142 over 36 holes at Avalon Golf Course to win by five strokes.
Girls golf Seo Hee Moon of Kamiak followed up her 2007 state title with a second-place finish in the 4A state tournament. Moon was 11 shots over par at 77-78—155 for 36 holes at Sudden Valley Golf Course and tied for second, 13 shots behind the winner.
Baseball Aaron West of Snohomish threw a two-hitter in the Panthers’ 10-1 win over Kentlake in the 4A state championship game.
Softball Cory Mattson of Everett pitched four shutouts in five games to lead Everett to third place in the 3A state tournament.
Boys soccer Sam Hauck and Brett Simons of King’s combined on the game-winning goal as the Knights beat Highland 2-1 in the 1A state championship game.
Girls tennis Lindsay Newman of South Whidbey won her second straight 2A singles championship with a 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 win over Erica Bosman of Lynden.
Boys tennis Willie Guo and Ryan Cho of Edmonds-Woodway won the 4A doubles title with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Zach Hamilton and Joey Hoolihan of Bellarmine Prep.
Boys track Brian Young of Grace Academy won state championships in the high jump and long jump at the 1B meet. His mark of 6 feet, 3 inches in the high jump was a meet record.
Girls track Myisha Valentine of North Sound Christian won the 100-, 200- and 400-meter dashes and anchored the winning 800 relay team to lead her team to a second-place finish in the 1B meet.
