Girls Swimming

Danielle Holstein of Edmonds-Woodway won the 500-yard freestyle in a state-qualifying time of 5 minutes, 24.66 seconds to help E-W beat Mariner. Holstein also won the 200 free-style and swam on two winning relays.

Girls Cross Country

Marysville-Pilchuck senior Haley Nemra won a Wesco North Division race against Lake Stevens and Cascade, and she was the top local finisher (sixth place) at the Hole in the Wall Invite on Saturday at Lakewood.

Volleyball

Edmonds-Woodway sophomore setter Leigh Fishback tallied 73 total assists as the Warriors swept Mariner and beat Shorecrest 3-1 in Western Conference South Division matches.

Boys Tennis

Blake Strickland and Bryan Yang of Kamiak won the No. 3 doubles match 6-2, 6-3 against Shorewood to earn the decisive point in the Knights’ 4-3 victory.

Girls Soccer

Edmonds-Woodway freshman Carlin Huegli scored six goals in two victories over Mariner, including four goals Saturday in E-W’s 6-0 triumph.

Boys Cross Country

Lake Stevens senior Joey Bywater won the Richland Invitational. He completed the 3-mile course in 15 minutes, 6 seconds and won by five seconds.

Football

Edmonds-Woodway junior tailback Tony Heard rushed 24 times for 211 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-7 Western Conference South Division victory over previously unbeaten Kamiak.

Boys Soccer

Jeremy Waller of North Sound Christian scored two goals to help his team beat Grace Academy 4-1 and scored a goal in the second minute to ignite North Sound’s 13-0 victory over Arlington Christian.
