According to Athletic.net, the following local high school track and field competitors are currently No. 1 in the all-classification state rankings:
*Edmonds-Woodway senior Alec Fellows (110-meter hurdles; 14.62 seconds)
*King’s senior Curtis Clauson (javelin; 206 feet, 5 inches)
*South Whidbey senior Will Hallberg (triple jump; 46 feet, 5 inches)
*Glacier Peak sophomore Amy-Eloise Neale (1,600-meter run; 4:49.06)
Also, watch out for Kamiak’s Nari Sternen. The senior had an outstanding meet against Jackson on March 24 at Goddard Stadium, winning the 110- and 300-meter hurdles, and running on Kamiak’s first-place 400-meter relay team. Sternen is ranked second in the state in the 300 hurdles (40.34 seconds) and third in the 110 hurdles (14.84 seconds).
Finally, congrats to Mariner’s Malcolm Manson. He was named The Herald’s Boys Track Athlete of the Week based on his performances last week.
