The junior pole vaulter came just one inch shy of tying a Class 4A state track meet record on Friday.
Enders, a converted gymnast, won the event by equalling her personal best vault of 12 feet, 3 inches.
On Saturday, she finished eighth in the triple jump behind a 1-2 finish from teammates Emily Kling and Courtney Waterhouse. Those three athletes contributed 33 1/2 of Snohomish’s 47 points, which was just enough to claim the team title by a three-point margin.
There was no better feeling for Enders than when she cleared the winning height on her final attempt.
“It was great,” she said. “I couldn’t stop smiling.”
Enders, who cleared 10 feet, 6 inches at the state 2001 state meet, went for a new meet record of 12-5 after victory was assured. She just missed on all three attempts.
“It would have been nice,” Enders said. “But, I’ll take this.”

The junior sprinter finished second in the 200 meters and third in the 100 meters at the state track meet.
Bradley, who is one of the state’s top football recruits, proved he is also one of the state’s fastest runners.
He finished second in Friday’s preliminary heat of the 100 in the morning, and third in a tightly-packed final that evening. Bradley’s time of 10.97 seconds was only .04 seconds off the time of freshman surprise winner Leon Jackson of Kamiakin.
Though his hamstring ached on Saturday, Bradley won his 200 heat, then finished second in the final – .09 seconds slower than Puyallup’s Cody Ellis. Bradley’s time was 22.29.
“I’m happy,” Bradley said. “I wanted first in both. Everybody who comes in here wants to win, but it doesn’t always turn out that way.”
