NASCAR SPRINT CUP

Site: Richmond, Va.

TV: Friday, qualifying (Speed Channel, 2:30 p.m.); Saturday, race (FOX, 4 p.m.).

Track: Richmond International Raceway (tri-oval, .75 miles, 14 degrees banking in turns). Race distance: 300 miles, 400 laps.

Last year: Jimmie Johnson gave Hendrick Motorsports its seventh win in the past eight Cup races by leading teammate Kyle Busch to a 1-2 finish at Richmond International Raceway.

NASCAR NATIONWIDE

Lipton Tea 250

Site: Richmond, Va.

TV: Friday, qualifying (Speed Channel, 1 p.m.), race (ESPN2, 4 p.m.).

Track: Richmond International Raceway (tri-oval, .75 miles, 14 degrees banking in turns). Race distance: 187.5 miles, 250 laps.

Last year: Clint Bowyer won the race off pit road with about 28 laps to go at Richmond and easily went on to his fifth career Nationwide victory.

NHRA

O’Reilly Midwest Nationals

Site: Madison, Ill.

TV: Friday, qualifying (ESPN2, 6 p.m., tape); Sunday, eliminations (ESPN2, 4 p.m., tape).

Track: Gateway International Raceway.

Last year: Melanie Troxel beat Cory McClenathan in the Top Fuel finals to become the second woman to win at Gateway International Raceway. Ron Capps recorded his third Funny Car victory of 2007, Dave Connolly topped teammate Jeg Coughlin by 0.016 seconds to win Pro Stock, and Matt Smith used a national-record elapsed time of 6.901 seconds to earn the Pro Stock Motorcycle championship.
