Defensive lineman Kentwan Balmer, who the Seahawks traded for yesterday, passed his physical and should be on the field for this afternoon’s practice.
To make room for Balmer on the roster, the Seahawks released RB Adrian Peterson, the former Chicago Bear who Seattle signed just five days ago.
Seattle also released linebacker Alvin Bowen and signed K Clint Stitser. Stitser was out of football for two years after playing at Fresno State. He recently was with the New York Jets before being cut. Stitser will provide a kicker while Olindo Mare recovers from a sore calf. Mare was able to kick a pair of field goals in Saturday’s preseason game with the injury, but after taking the first couple of kickoffs, P Jon Ryan took over that job.
