Kyle Beach has a concussion and will not play this weekend.
Beach did not pass the baseline test, which determines whether someone is concussed. He’ll have the baseline test administered again early next week, and if he passes then, the concussion protocol calls for sitting out another five days, so he’ll be out at least an additional week. It is the second concussion Beach has suffered in roughly a month.
The concussion means Beach will not play in the CHL Top Prospects game next Tuesday and Wednesday in Edmonton. Beach was to be Everett’s only representative to the game.
With Spokane’s Chris Bruton suspended for a time to be determined, it appears there’s a good chance neither of the antagonists from Wednesday’s incident will be on the ice when the teams square off tomorrow here in Everett.
