SHORELINE – Shorewood, trying to win its fifth straight Wesco South Division title, had a day of personal bests on Thursday.

The Thunderbirds had 78 points in the Wesco South meet, defeating Meadowdale (63) and Everett (45) at Shoreline Stadium.

Shorewood’s Hannah Vietmeier had a personal best time of 5:21.7 to place first in the 1,600-meter race as the Thunderbirds swept the top three spots.

Shorewood’s Kathryn Claus had a personal best leap of 16 feet seven inches to win the long jump.

The Thunderbirds’ Hannah Schliephake, who is ranked 11th in the state in the 100 hurdles, ran the 300-meter hurdles for the first time and won with a time of 49.40.

Snohomish 89, Marysville-Pilchuck 86, Oak Harbor 15: At Marysville-Pilchuck, Snohomish’s Annelise Cook won the shot put and discus and helped the Panthers win the 800-relay, staving off a late Marysville-Pilchuck surge in the Wesco North meet.

Wesco South: At Shoreline, Max Mower placed first in the 400 meters and Connor O’Reilly finished first in the 110-meter hurdles to lead Everett, which won 10 events in the Wesco South meet.

Cascade 100, Monroe 47, Mount Vernon 30: At Everett, seniors Chris Hilliard and Blaine Bradshaw led the way for the Bruins as they won the Wesco South tri-meet. Hilliard placed first in the 110-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles and the high jump. Bradshaw won the pole vault at 14 feet, missing in his attempt to tie the school record at 14-6.
