EUGENE, Ore. – The Everett AquaSox are on a roll. And Tuesday night they rolled right past the Eugene Emeralds.

Everett blew by Eugene with a five-run fifth inning and went on to defeat the Emeralds 10-4 in a Northwest League game.

Everett (20-12) now has won four straight. Eugene dropped to 12-20.

Everett trailed 3-2 before exploding in the fifth.

With one out, Casey Craig walked, Yung Chi Chen bunted for a single and Asdrubal Cabrera singled to left, loading the bases. Marshall Hubbard then sliced a double down the left-field line, clearing the bases and giving the AquaSox a 5-3 lead.

After Mike Wilson struck out, Trevor Heid greeted reliever Ronnie Robinson by smacking his first pitch for an RBI single and Elvis Cruz tacked on an RBI double to stretch the lead to 7-3. Everett’s lead was never again threatened.

Everett starting pitcher Kendall Bergdall picked up the win to improve to 3-1. He pitched five innings, giving up four runs on seven hits and three walks, striking out three. Relievers Phil Cullen and Kenny Falconer combined to toss four scoreless innings.

Eugene starter Joel Santo, making his Northwest League debut, took the loss. He went 42/3 innings, giving up six runs on six hits and three walks, striking out five.

Craig singled in the eighth inning, giving him a 10-game hitting streak, the longest by an AquaSox player this season.

Eugene took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first with a pair of doubles.

Everett tied it up in the top of the second. A walk and two singles loaded the bases with no outs. After Omar Falcon struck out, Oswaldo Navarro grounded into a fielder’s choice that scored Wilson from third, making it 1-1.

The AquaSox then took the lead in the third when Cabrera slugged a solo home run to right, his third of the season, to give Everett a 2-1 lead.
