Big second half boosts Jackson

MILL CREEK – The Jackson boys basketball team scored 44 second-half points en route to a 77-46 victory over White Rock (B.C.) Christian Friday in its non-league, season-opener.

Senior forward Johnie Kirton led all scorers with 19 points and teammate Corey Hall added 14 points for Jackson, which opens league play Friday at Lynnwood.

“We knew this was a good team coming into the game,” Jackson coach Steve Johnson said. “They (White Rock Christian) played Woodinville last night and lost by just five points.”

The Timberwolves, who led 33-29 at halftime, increased their lead to 19 points in the third quarter thanks in part to 13 combined points by Drew Eisinger (seven points) and Kirton (six).

“We came out at the end of halftime and played really hard,” Johnson said. “We started to wear them down.”
