Big second quarter lifts M-P

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE – Marysville-Pilchuck showed why it is the preseason favorite in the Wesco North with a 68-57 non-league win over Mountlake Terrace Friday night.

The Tomahawks took over the game in the second quarter, outscoring the Hawks 26-5.

M-P had a 19-point halftime lead, which Mountlake Terrace cut to five late in the third quarter, but could get no closer.

Nathan Lozeau was 6-for-7 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter to help the Tommies clinch the victory.

Lozeau (24 points) and teammate Jared Stohl (21 points) accounted for 45 of M-P’s 68 points.
